Approval Criteria

  • Job posting must contain information regarding a legitimate opportunity which must be verifiable by an agent of the organization
  • The position title must be a reasonable description of the position
  • To be listed under the full-time category, the job must pay at least minimum wage or fall under an accepted FLSA exemption
  • Compensation must be indicated with payment amount or left blank shown as Not Specified if dollar amount is not to be provided. 
  • All required fields must be complete to the best of the job poster’s ability
  • In general, fees may not be charged to applicants
    • Exceptions to this policy are at the discretion of the Employer Relations Team. Common exceptions include: finger printing fees for federal, state, or school agencies, background checks for testing for police, licensure/certification for financial advisors, etc.   
  • The job poster must agree to the EEO statement when registering for Handshake. 
  • Multi-level marketing postings are not allowed on Handshake, including mystery shoppers, make up consultants, etc. 
  • A specific position description about the duties and responsibility is required. These should be reasonable expectations to the type of position, industry, years of experience, and education required. 
  • The expiration date may not be listed more than 365 days from the posting date.
