The Department of Dental Hygiene at Oregon Tech is accepting applications for full-time, nine- month tenure track positions at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level. A separate six-week summer teaching contract may be possible and/or required based on course assignment. The Dental Hygiene Program offers a Bachelor of Science degree in two locations – at the Klamath Falls, OR main campus and in Salem, OR at Chemeketa Community College. Positions may be available at both locations. Positions will start in September of 2018. Successful candidates may have the option to do some clinical teaching during the summer quarter prior to the contract start date, if they so choose.Faculty with Oregon Tech are encouraged to pursue personal and professional goals through a variety of creative opportunities. Provide didactic, laboratory and
clinical instruction, and evaluate student performance. Scheduled instruction
may be during evening hours. Duties include developing courses utilizing
current teaching and learning methods that are student centered for both campus
and distance delivery; updating teaching materials to reflect evidence-based
decision making; collaborating with institution and dental hygiene faculty on
curriculum issues, assessment of student learning outcomes, policies and
procedures, student advising, and accreditation.

 As a tenure track faculty, you
will also serve through membership and leadership on campus committees for university
and program development, and will be responsible for development and
participation in outward facing projects that promote the university’s mission.

You must maintain requirements
for continuous licensure, participate in professional activities central to all
roles of the dental hygienist, and obtain professional development to advance
knowledge in education.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA accredited Dental Hygiene programMaster’s degree in dental hygiene, education, public health, allied health, or related discipline; or degree obtained within three years of teaching for Oregon Tech.Current dental hygiene license, must obtain Oregon license within 6 months of hireMinimum of 3 years’ experience with direct patient care.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Nitrous oxide, Expanded Practice Permit, and Restorative Endorsement are strongly preferred.Experience in teaching the following courses: Dental hygiene basic science, clinical teaching, restoration placement, and radiology courses.ADHA and ADEA membershipsBilingual in English/Spanish


The position will be at the Instructor
or Assistant Professor level depending upon the candidate’s qualifications.
Salary is commensurate with the level of education and experience. A generous
