VMock Resume Tool

VMock, a 24-7 online résumé review tool available to all Oregon State students, uses machine learning and natural language processing to provide you with instant, personalized feedback on your résumé or CV.

  • Have an existing resume? Upload it for quick feedback on ways to improve the wording, presentation or impact.
  • Want to start from scratch? Choose from a library of pre-built templates to create a resume within the VMock platform.

Using VMock

1.

Log in to Vmock.

At vmock.com/oregonstate, select either "student" or "alumni."

2.

Upload a resume or CV for instant feedback.

  • See the VMock user guide for detailed instructions.
  • Each OSU student gets 10 resume uploads per year to the Vmock platform.
  • Tip: don't focus too much on your exact score within VMock. Scoring 100 is not the goal – instead focus on making improvements and getting your resume into the green zone.

3.

(Optional) get additional feedback

Once you've worked through some of the suggestions Vmock provides, you can re-upload your resume to see how your score improves. You can also get feedback from career advisors, professors and mentors.

  • Within Vmock, you can use an option called "Share for Network Feedback" to send your resume to reviewers via Vmock. Read the Vmock Requesting Feedback Guide.
  • You can also make an appointment with a career assistant or career advisor to get a personal perspective on your Vmock scores.
