Beat the Applicant Tracking System: Winning Resumes & Cover Letters
April 12, 2023 | 5:30-6:30 p.m. PT
-
Location: Hybrid; Virtual or at Valley Library, Willamette Room East/West
-
When you apply for an internship or job, your uploaded resume or CV goes into an Applicant Tracking System – and this ATS software can determine whether humans ever see your application. Learn how ATSs work and how to customize your application to get past the ATS and in front of a human recruiter.
-
ATSs are only the first step: learn about crafting resumes and cover letters that will help your application materials stand out to the humans hiring for jobs, internships, research positions, or other opportunities you apply to (grad school perhaps?) We will cover formatting, content, highlighting your skills, and telling a compelling story in your cover letter.
-
Before attending the workshop, we encourage you to upload your resume to Vmock to get a virtual review and individualized feedback for improvement.
-
This workshop is taught by Erich White, the Career Advisor for College of Engineering.
