City of Hillsboro - Parks & Recreation
I supervise the Special Events division for the city's Parks and Recreation Department, we focus on free programming/events for the public. Some of the events we do include our summer showtime concert series, movies in the park, Pride Party and Winter Village the pop up ice skating rink.
Public Service
Flexible: Any day when we have an event happening would be a wonderful intro. Thursdays in June or July would be great so the student can see our Showtime concert setup in the evenings. The first Saturday in June is our Pride party, and Fridays in August are our movies in the park; note that the August dates are late in the day.
Our half day would include helping prepare and setup for one of our signature summer events, touring the different park facilities where we host programs, and meeting the special events team.
